The Gutter Twins: news
July In South America, Europe and Australia
"An Evening With Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan" Returns
After their series of sold out shows in Europe and on the West
Coast of America this past January & February, Sub Pop veterans
Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan will bring their special intimate
performances to South America, Australia and Europe this July.
Dulli
and Lanegan's upcoming shows in Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Australia
will be their first performances together in those countries since the
release of The Gutter Twins debut album Saturnalia. Guitarist/singer
Dave Rosser will once again perform with the duo for all of the
upcoming shows. Rosser's indispensible talent was a key ingredient to
the success of all of the previous shows and the three artists share a
rare camaraderie on stage together.
"It was very exciting playing
our songs this way so we jumped at the chance to run it back,"
commented Dulli. "It's an honor to be asked to reprise the show
especially by the South Americans, as none of us have been there
before. We added a couple extra songs for the West Coast run and I'm
sure we'll play a few we didn't last time."
"An Evening With
Greg Dulli & Mark Lanegan" will reach three contents beginning on
July 1st in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Other highlights along the way include
performances at The Cactus Festival in Bruges and the Royal Festival
Hall in London. The tour will conclude with a performance at this
year's Splendour in the Grass festival in Australia.
The Gutter
Twins enjoyed a massively successful 2008 with the release of
Saturnalia, and their follow up EP Adorata for Sub Pop Records. It's
been a welcome homecoming to Sub Pop for both artists as Saturnalia was
named by SPIN Magazine has one of the best albums of 2008.
Mark
Lanegan rose to fame as singer for the much-loved Seattle band
Screaming Trees and Greg Dulli as the magnetic leader of the Afghan
Whigs. Following the break up of both groups, Lanegan and Dulli went on
to achieve significant notice on their own. Lanegan continued to
release successful solo albums, as well as create vivid partnerships
with the likes of Belle & Sebastian singer Isobel Campbell and
Queens of the Stone Age. Dulli, meanwhile, innovatively fused indie,
soul and electronic sounds in his post-Whigs ensemble the Twilight
Singers, who released their first album, Twilight As Played By The
Twilight Singers, in 2000. The most recent Twilight effort was 2006's
Powder Burns.
Beyond their tour this coming July, Greg Dulli has
already begun work on a new Twilight Singers album, which he expects to
release in 2010. Mark Lanegan has an upcoming project with Soulsavers
and will begin work on his first solo album in five years.

"An Evening With Greg Dulli & Mark Lanegan"
Goes On Sale This Friday November 14th
Sub Pop veterans Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan will return to Europe beginning January 15th 2009 for sixteen special intimate performances. Dulli and Lanegan along with guitarist Dave Rosser will perform a 'Stripped Down In The Gutter' set. By sheer virtue of the intimacy of the show, it will be unique, as neither Dulli nor Lanegan have toured in this capacity before.
"Since our instrumentation for this tour is going to be radically different, the shows will include many songs neither of us have performed in quite sometime or ever," Dulli commented.
"An Evening With Greg Dulli & Mark Lanegan" will kick off on January 15th in Glasgow at the Oran Mor and will run through February 2nd in Athens, Greece at Gagarin 205. Tickets will go on sale this Friday (November 14th) for all sixteen shows.

Greg Dulli to Release Live at Triple Door
Album Available Worldwide Digitally On October 28th
It was October of last year when Greg Dulli was asked to perform a benefit show for The Vera Project (a local music-arts center run by and for youth) in Seattle, WA. At the time, Dulli was in-between projects. His band, The Twilight Singers were on hiatus after a full year of touring, while his new project with Mark Lanegan, The Gutter Twins, wasn't quite ready to be unveiled to the general public.
Rather than pass on the offer, he decided to improvise. Dulli assembled an eclectic collection of musicians including Petra Haden, Shawn Smith, Jeff Klein and Barb Antonio to reinterpret and recreate acoustically, some of his finest material over a two-night stand at the intimate Triple Door Theatre in downtown Seattle.
The highlights from these shows will now finally be released worldwide digitally as Live At Triple Door on October 28th on Dulli's own Infernal Recordings label.
Performing a stripped down and subdued set, Dulli leads his band through a selection of Twilight Singers songs such as "King Only" and "Candy Cane Crawl," a brand new (at the time) Gutter Twins song "Front Street" along with a mix of covers, including his first live version of Jose Gonzalez's "Down The Line". For a man that's been known for his live performances, this release is shockingly the first ever full live album of Greg Dulli's illustrious career.
"I was originally asked to perform alone but that prospect was terrifying to me, so I asked Petra to come along," commented Dulli. "Then I thought 'Jeff's done this a million times, I'll bring him too.' I hadn't played with Shawn or Barb in ten years and they lived in Seattle, so I called them and what started as a potentially scary situation turned into a beautiful band without all the clanging and banging. And I could actually hear myself onstage for once and sang (mostly) in key."
Dulli's current project, The Gutter Twins will be performing at this year's Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans on October 24th and the band be returning to the East Coast of the U.S. for four shows in early November (Philly, Brooklyn, D.C. and Boston).

Adorata Available Now
Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan have released a brand new eight-song Gutter
Twins EP titled Adorata exclusively through iTunes.
Recorded mostly during the original
sessions for their debut album Saturnalia, Adorata finds The Gutter
Twins drawing material from a wide range of artists and capturing the
energy and excitement of their live performances. The eight track EP
includes: "Belles," (Vetiver), " Down The Line" (Jose Gonzales), "Deep
Hit Of Morning Sun," (Primal Scream), "Flow Like A River," (Eleven),
"St. James Infirmary," (Traditional) "Duchess," (Scott Walker), and two
previously unreleased original Gutter Twins songs "Spanish Doors," and
"We Have Met Before."
A portion of the proceeds from
the release of Adorata will go to the Natasha Shneider Memorial Fund

was the lead singer for Eleven and a member of Queens of the Stone Age.
The
Gutter Twins, who are currently in the midst of their 2nd European
tour, recently announced the addition of five U.S. dates this fall
which will include a performance at this year's Voodoo Music Festival.
